Molly Robinson
Veterinary Physiotherapist
Passionate about enhancing animals’ comfort, movement and quality of life, from daily function to high level performance.
Background and Experience
Being born and raised on a sheep and beef farm, with a pony for a pram and working dogs as family pets, my love of animals developed immediately and it was inevitable that I would pursue a career involving them.
My childhood revolved around pony club, with a particularly keen interest in mounted games and eventing. I was incredibly lucky to have some amazing ponies, and later horses, that allowed me to have many years of fun. Whilst we had many highs, I also experienced the challenges and heartbreak of injuries, both in horses and myself. This sparked my interest in rehabilitation, and I quickly became fascinated with the musculoskeletal (MSK) system.
After observing our local veterinary physiotherapist work their magic on both my own and others’ animals, it was clear that this was the route for me. So, after leaving school, I attended Sheffield Hallam University and graduated with a first-class BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. I worked in the National Health Service for two years, gaining experience in many aspects of healthcare, rotating through medical and surgical wards, acute elderly, stroke rehabilitation and MSK outpatients. This helped me develop a greater appreciation for the large scope and diversity of the profession which I was eager to explore further. I then switched to the MSK private sector, while completing further study gaining an MSc with distinction in Veterinary Physiotherapy from the University of Liverpool.
By September 2024, I took the leap and moved to Hawkes Bay, to work with both humans and animals, and to enjoy this beautiful region.
Working with animals provides incredible opportunities and variety, allowing us to tap into many aspects of this fantastic profession. I thoroughly enjoy the range of cases that we work with, from paediatric to geriatric, neurological to orthopaedic as well as sport injuries & performance issues, across many different species!
I am passionate about continued professional development, keeping up to date with current research and always seeking ways to enhance the service that we deliver.
